Biography

Rajesh joined the Silicon Valley office of Siemens Venture Capital (SVC) in 2008 as an Investment Analyst. His areas of focus include energy, communications and industrial solutions.

Prior to joining SVC,  Rajesh  worked for Rutberg & Co., a boutique investment bank focusing on mergers & acquisitions and private placement transactions within the digital media and wireless space.

Rajesh is also a co-founder of a technology startup in San Francisco, where he  worked  with a team of professionals in the development of a professional networking utility site. Rajesh also worked for Fisher Investments, within their research group and for Merrill Lynch Global Commodities, within their energy trading group.

Rajesh graduated Cum Laude with a BBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, concentrating in finance and marketing.

Before joining SVC in 2000 he directed the innovation management for Siemens' Communication Devices line of business. In a previous assignment he has spent five years with Mannesmann AG in Germany, where he worked as a consultant and technology manager in telematics, logistics, automotive technology, and communications.

Biography

Gerd is Managing Partner, based in Palo Alto , CA . He specializes in investments in energy, communications and industrial solutions.

His investments include Broadlight, Dune Networks, IP-Unity Glenayre, Kagoor Networks (acquired by Juniper Networks), Myrio (acquired by Siemens), Reactive NanoTechnologies and Verimatrix. In addition he manages SVC's investments in G2 Microsystems, Prenova and SmartSynch.

With more than 20 years of worldwide industry experience, he combines a strong technical background with wide-ranging operational skills. Prior to joining Siemens Venture Capital in September 2000, Gerd held the position of Vice President and Head of CableTV Solutions in Siemens Information and Communication Networks.

Additionally, Gerd's managerial and operating expertise stems from earlier focus on R&D, system integration, product line management, technical sales support, project management and general management in the fields of telecommunication equipment and solutions.

Gerd received a master's degree in electrical engineering (Dipl. Ing.) from Technical University Darmstadt, Germany.

Biography

Jackie Hoffmann is a Vice President and Investment Partner for the private equity advisory services within Siemens Venture Capital (SVC).

Jackie joined SVC in June 2000, responsible for venture capital investments related to enterprise networks, hosted office and security. Her investments included Voltage Security, PSS Systems, Media5, Oblix (acquired by Oracle), Blue Pumpkin (acquired by Witness Systems), Nimcat Networks (acquired by Avaya) and Teamplate (acquired by Captaris). In addition, she manages SVC's investment in Autocell Laboratories. Since 2007, Jackie has been responsible for investments in US leveraged buy-out funds as well as investments in secondary funds worldwide.

Before joining the Siemens Venture Capital team in 2000, Jackie directed the Applications and Pricing Business Administration teams at Siemens Information and Communication Networks in Santa Clara, California. Prior to that she held a variety of management positions in the finance and business adminstration organizations at Siemens and, prior to joining Siemens, spent 5 years in the finance organization at Intel.

Jackie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. She received her Master's Degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Since joining Siemens in 1992, Rajesh has held a wide variety of roles in areas like Finance, Marketing and Business Development and Engineering.

Prior to joining SVC in 2005, he was Senior Manager, Finance, with Siemens Ltd, India. Before that he held various positions, first in engineering and then in marketing and business development with Automation and Control group of Siemens.

Rajesh graduated from Mumbai University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1991 and later received his Masters in Finance from the same university.

Oanh Le has joined Siemens Venture Capital (SVC) in July 2008 as Director, Marketing & Communications.

Oanh has worldwide responsibility for SVC corporate communications, including public relations, media relations, marketing, corporate identity, online activities and event management.

Prior to joining SVC, Oanh was responsible for the worldwide internal communications of Siemens Financial Services, headquartered in Munich, Germany. From 2001 to 2006, Oanh held various positions in the corporate communications department of the mobile operator ONE, headquartered in Vienna, Austria.

Oanh has a degree in public relations studies from the University of Vienna and began her career in a Viennese public relations agency in 1997.

Susanne Wölfinger is an investment partner for the private equity advisory services within Siemens Venture Capital (SVC).

Susanne joined SVC in May 2008 and is responsible for investments in European leveraged buy-out funds as well as for investments in distressed and mezzanine funds.

Since 2005, Susanne was a senior manager at Siemens Investor Relations. Between 1996 and 2005, Susanne held positions in M&A and IPO advisory, private equity advisory and leveraged finance at Goldman Sachs & Co., Triton Equity Partners, ABN Amro and HypoVereinsbank.

Within the Med Fund Portfolio he has been involved in the boards of U-Systems, Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals, RadPharm, MDdatacor and overseas the Sequenom investment.

He previously was an I. I. ranked analyst following the medical technology industry at Alex Brown and Wachovia Securities. Sectors under coverage included imaging, orthopedics, cardiovascular, vision, diabetes, and neurologic devices.

During his career, he was instrumental in raising over $2 billion in equity capital for over 30 emerging growth medical technology companies including Guidant, Perclose, Masimo, MediSense and Natus. He published over 10,000 pages of research including thought leading pieces on neurology, orthopedics and an early introduction to the field of drug coated stents.

Dr. Jay's prior experience includes leading consulting projects for Arthur D. Little and running his substantial dental practice.
He has a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern.

Alexander joined Siemens Venture Capital in July 2005. His responsibilities at Siemens Venture Capital include pre-screening and evaluating deal flow, the due diligence of investment opportunities, and supporting the investment partners in all topics related to the portfolio management.

Alexander covers investments in the following spaces: Energy, Environment, and Industry. Currently he serves as a board member of Setrix AG.

Before joining Siemens Venture Capital, Alexander was employed as a Junior Investment Manager at HBD Venture Capital in Cape Town . During his tenure at Mark Shuttleworth's Venture Capital vehicle, he was involved in the review and evaluation of incoming business proposals and participated in several due diligences of South African early-stage ventures. Prior to that Alexander worked at Umbono Capital Partners in Johannesburg . While there he was mainly involved in strategy-related projects for the South African electricity monopolist Eskom.

Kai joined Siemens Venture Capital in October 2004 and was an Analyst for the Fund-of-Funds until the end of 2005. In this capacity Kai assisted the head of fund investments in all tasks related to the investment process, including market research, due diligence and the monitoring of Siemens Venture Capital's numerous fund investments. Until 2007 Kai was SVC's Controller and supported the CFO in all financial planning and reporting functions.

Prior to joining Siemens Venture Capital, Kai studied Business Administration and Computer Science with a Siemens scholarship. During his studies Kai did several internships at a financial services company and at different Siemens business units and central departments where he worked on a wide range of topics including IT services, web application development, management information systems and treasury.

Rudolf Ohnesorge is an Investment Partner responsible for Growth Capital investments and contributes more than 10 years of consulting, general management and investment experience to his role.

Rudolf joined Siemens Venture Capital from Infineon Technologies AG where he was part of the management of a $700 million division. He established the ‘Identification' business unit, focusing on security electronics (e.g. ePassports) and RFID technologies, and was able to grow the business from $5 million to $260 million annual revenue and profitability.

Prior to that, Rudolf was a founding team member and Managing Director of Infineon Ventures, Infineon's venture capital arm. He held various board and board observer roles. His investment track record includes Formfactor (NASDAQ: FORM), Saifun (acquired by Spansion), LightLogic (acquired by Intel) and Broadbus (acquired by Motorola).

Previously, he gained consulting experience with McKinsey & Co. in Munich and with the Mitchell Madison Group in London, UK.

Rudolf received a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and a Master's in Strategic Management from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris, France. He also studied economics at the University of Oxford, UK.

Prior to joining SVC, Ms. Stav was a Partner in the Neurone Venture Capital Fund and has more than six years of experience in the venture capital market and the technology industry in Israel. Anupendra is most actively focused on investing in US, China and Israel. Prior to joining Siemens Corporation, Anupendra worked in Investment Banking at JPMorgan and Salomon Smith Barney in New York, strategy consulting for McKinsey in London, and Product Development Finance for Ford Motor in the UK, where he was a member of the core team that launched Ford in China and India.

Anupendra is a Charter Member of TiE Boston, and Founder & Chairman of Mobile Medics, a social venture attempting to solve the last-mile problem for rural healthcare. Mobile Medics was named the Most Outstanding Social Venture of 2006 at the Global Social Venture Competition, and has won several international awards. Anupendra also serves as mentor and advisor to several Entrepreneurship Centers in the US and India.

Eric Emmons

Eric Emmons is an Investment Partner based in Boston, MA. He specializes in investments in energy, materials, and industrial solutions.

Before joining Siemens Venture Capital in 2008, Eric was a general partner at the Massachusetts Green Energy Fund, where he led many of its investments in photovoltaics, biofuels, industrial process efficiency, and new materials. Eric also worked with Commons Capital, a venture capital firm in the Boston area which invests in energy, medical, and technology companies.

Eric has significant prior experience in corporate finance and operations. Eric worked in the M&A and strategy group of LEK Consulting and managed M&A due diligence on target companies for private equity clients. Eric was also on the founding team of Enmed, Inc., a software firm that developed and marketed clinical trial management software for the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries, and served as Manager of Marketing and Strategic Planning for EPIX Medical, Inc., a venture-backed public biotechnology firm in Cambridge, MA.

Biography

Markus Mittermaier joined Siemens Venture Capital in January 2000 and was based in Munich and Silicon Valley. He was involved in transactions straddling Europe and the United States for two years. Prior to rejoining SVC in the Boston office in July 2006, he worked at Citigroup's Investment Banking Division in London and managed his own online recruitment firm.

Within SVC his primary areas of focus are in energy, materials and industrial solutions.

Mr. Mittermaier serves on the board of directors of Qcept Technologies and is a board observer at Reactive Nanotechnologies (RNT). He was also a board observer at Digital Envoy (acquired by Landmark Communications in June 2007).

Mr. Mittermaier was a Siemens Scholar at Oxford University from which he graduated with a double first class Master of Engineering degree in Materials Science, Economics and Management. While there, he was also a scholar of the Armourers and Brasiers Company (London), Alcan and the Kurt Fordan Trust, Munich.

October 2008 

Prior to joining SVC, Sandy was Assistant Manager in the United Family Hospital - the only US owned hospital in Beijing - for 5 years. Before that, she worked in the Beijing Continental Grand Hotel, during which time she was awarded several positions in different departments, including front office, finance department and the General Manager's office.

Sandy received her business diploma from Beijing Economic Administration College.
