| Biography Edward joined the Boston office of Siemens Venture Capital (SVC) in July 2006 as Analyst for the Medical Solutions Fund. Prior to joining SVC, Edward worked as a Business Analyst at Capital One in Virginia. Edward also had experience in developing medical devices and working with healthcare startups. While at Johns Hopkins University, Edward led a small team in the development of a patent-pending biomedical device in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medical School. He also worked with the MMT Fund, a Maryland life sciences incubator, where he supported portfolio companies by conducting market research, writing federal grant applications, and filing patents. Edward graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with a concentration in Computer Engineering. Eric Emmons is an Investment Partner based in Boston, MA. He specializes in investments in energy, materials, and industrial solutions. Before joining Siemens Venture Capital in 2008, Eric was a general partner at the Massachusetts Green Energy Fund, where he led many of its investments in photovoltaics, biofuels, industrial process efficiency, and new materials. Eric also worked with Commons Capital, a venture capital firm in the Boston area which invests in energy, medical, and technology companies. Eric has significant prior experience in corporate finance and operations. Eric worked in the M&A and strategy group of LEK Consulting and managed M&A due diligence on target companies for private equity clients. Eric was also on the founding team of Enmed, Inc., a software firm that developed and marketed clinical trial management software for the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries, and served as Manager of Marketing and Strategic Planning for EPIX Medical, Inc., a venture-backed public biotechnology firm in Cambridge, MA. Biography Markus Mittermaier joined Siemens Venture Capital in January 2000 and was based in Munich and Silicon Valley. He was involved in transactions straddling Europe and the United States for two years. Prior to rejoining SVC in the Boston office in July 2006, he worked at Citigroup's Investment Banking Division in London and managed his own online recruitment firm. Within SVC his primary areas of focus are in energy, materials and industrial solutions. Mr. Mittermaier serves on the board of directors of Qcept Technologies and is a board observer at Reactive Nanotechnologies (RNT). He was also a board observer at Digital Envoy (acquired by Landmark Communications in June 2007). Mr. Mittermaier was a Siemens Scholar at Oxford University from which he graduated with a double first class Master of Engineering degree in Materials Science, Economics and Management.
